We love to play chess – so we decided to give it a modern / exciting new look. All this was based on the following observations:

• Chess games take quite a long time. Foremost, it takes a long time until the “main game” begins after playing the first moves.
• Nowadays, a big part of chess is about memorizing positions that have been played before, in order to find the best move.
• The rules of chess are very well thought out and logical. They actually offer much more scope for games beyond the rigid chess setup we are used to.

Therefore, we decided to create the ChessMissions App. Our app is organized into missions, where users can jump directly into action. The missions are designed that you can enjoy them in a short break, without the need to allocate hours for a full game of chess.

Each missions features a different adaption / variant of chess. It is all based on the gameplay and rules of chess, but with twists. For example, pieces in our app move exactly the same as they do on standard chess boards. However, the setup and number of pieces can change. There are modes like “Capture the Flag”, where your aim is to bring a flag on the chess board home to your base. Watch out for special fields on the board – they might freeze your enemies, allow you to move twice, or let you move like a queen for one move.

Our vision is to provide a set of games that are based on chess, but extend it into a new shape. It’s more than just chess puzzles – in our missions, you need to explore new strategies and ways of thinking, not memorizing best moves. So it’s up to you to find the best tactic for the game!
