Now it gets spooky: zombies are taking over the chess world! In this chess variant called “Zombie Mode” (or “Zombie Chess”), every time you capture an opponent’s piece, you create a zombie. That piece then switches sides and follows your command from that moment on.
It quickly becomes clear that capturing even weaker pieces can be very important in this mode. Not only does the opponent lose a piece, but you also gain one, allowing you to quickly build a numerical advantage and potentially win the game fast.
You win the game when you have captured all of your opponent’s pieces and they have joined your team. But you should always stay cautious — gaining an advantage is easy, but losing it can happen just as quickly.

When you capture a piece, it doesn’t stay in place – instead, it “respawns” on your side of the chessboard. Usually, there are 1–2 possible squares you can choose from. If all the squares are occupied, the piece is lost. So always make sure your respawn squares are free.
